Science Fair Proposal.

1. If pregnant women did not drink during there pregnancy, then there would be less probability that their babies be born with a cleft lip or cleft palate.

2. The dependent variable is the percentage of babies born with cleft lips or cleft palates. The independent variable would be the consumption of alcohol of the pregnant woman. The controlled variable would be whether the baby is born with this malfunction.

3. There is a definate connection between my science fair project and my senior project. A doctor focuses deal with people from birth to death. My science fair project focuses on the birth of children and a possible disorder. Children born with a cleft lip or cleft palate is not a big percentage but it still affects a handful of people in society.

4. I would collect data from hospitals regarding babies cases that were born with cleft lip and/or cleft palate. if possible I would also collect data of the parents and whether they consumed any bit of alcohol, how much, what type, etc. I would not nede much equipment for my science fair project, it would mainly be done over the phone and on a computer.

5. Animal Biology and Physiology Project.

  1. Update your blog: This is an Animal Biology and Physiology project.

You should try to find the data for this as soon as possible.

  2. If a child is born in a Latin American country, then their chances of being born with a cleft lip or cleft palate are 20% higher.

    Indp (manipulating): country of birth
Dep (produced): cleft lip or cleft palate births
    Control: Births in various countries
